Local Test Labs 15 June:
Study visits to three different test beds (2 hours activity)
Hybrit is a demonstration plant, where steel is produced without coal, by using hydrogen produced with fossil-free electricity. The project will facilitate the transition from fossil-based steel production to a fossil-free one, with the aim of enabling SSAB to introduce fossil-free steel to the market already in 2026.
Fossil-free steel will be key to downstream manufacturers’ sourcing of fossil-free, climate neutral and recyclable input material.
ICE is a testbed focusing on digitalization and IT infrastructure. The ICE center coordinates national research projects as well as the testing and development of all features in the technology stack; the infrastructure and building of data centers, edge and cloud applications, IT architecture and machine learning. ICE mission is to put Sweden at the forefront in the area of effective data center solutions, edge computing, cloud applications and data analysis.
The test bed for 5 G is situated at the LTU (Luleå University of Technology) where a lot of research and development focuses on how different actors can benefit from the new technology and work with 6G is ongoing. LTU is investing heavily in AI and also has a drone lab. The project will work with pilot demonstrations of 5G-connected drones in a mining environment, innovative use of modern AI technology and a hardware and software stack for edge-to-cloud applications. Examples of applications that will be developed include real-time video analysis, autonomous navigation, time-synchronized seismic sensors, augmented / virtual reality. University of Technology).

The Data Week is the spring gathering of the Big Data and Data Driven AI research and innovation community in Europe.
Data Week 2023 is co-organised by Big Data Value Association and the EUHubs4Data project in collaboration with the Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE).
The main event of the Data Week 2023 will take place in Luleå, Sweden between 13 – 15 June 2023 with the central theme ”Data Meets Infrastructure at the Edge!”
The conference will take place at the Quality Hotel between 13th – 14th June, on the third event day the attendees will have the opportunity to visit the local Test Labs.
