The sport climbing course can vary in length depending on your prior knowledge and needs. It is a one to two day course for those who want to learn to climb outdoors on routes with bolted belays and anchors. You can see more information about course content below.
We who run the courses are authorized instructors through the Swedish Climbing Association and all courses follow the Swedish Climbing Association's standards.
Pontus Frank is the main instructor and has many years of experience as an instructor. With great passion, he teaches you what you need to know for your next adventure.
Course content
Sport climbing is about being able to rope climb on rocks where you climb a maximum of half the length of the rope on bolted joints. So you don't put your own fuses in the mountain. If you want to learn to climb longer distances, i.e. multipitch, we can adapt the course accordingly. The course includes general anchor building of various types, belaying, climbing, switching in the top anchor, knots, safety, equipment check, access, etc.
Length of the course
One to two days depending on the content of the course, approximately 8 hours per day. Get back with your request and we will put together a well-adapted course.
Previous knowledge
Depending on your prior knowledge, we adjust the length and content of the course. But top rope card (green card) is a prerequisite you need to have.
Place
The sport climbing course is held, for example, on Falkberget outside Piteå, Åbergfortet in Boden or our small home cliff in Luleå "Iron cliff". But if you have other wishes, please let us know. When registering for the course, you will receive more information about where we meet.
Equipment
You can borrow the equipment you need from us, but if you have your own equipment, we would like you to use it, that way you will be comfortable with what you have. Regardless, we have different variations of equipment with us that you can try. But it is good if you have your own harness, rope brake and climbing shoes.
Everyone on the course must wear a helmet when necessary, we have it for you if you don't have one. After the course, you can order climbing equipment through us at a good package price.
Award
2 days* SEK 2600/person,
1 full day + 3 hours SEK 2200/person
1 full day SEK 1900/person

Before the start of the course, you must be a member of a climbing club affiliated to the Swedish Climbing Association, e.g. Luleå Climbing Club. Then you have insurance through the club.
