The Sea Ice Marathon Weekend offers you the opportunity to experience fantastic winter activities in addition to your participation in the unique race on the frozen sea.
Explore Luleå Weekend is not just relaxation. You also get the opportunity to try many winter activities and experience Luleå, its history and fantastic winter scenery. In addition to a guided snowmobile tour, northern lights hunt and city tour included in the package, you can book a dog sled tour, snowshoe hike and meet moose and reindeer.
Luleå city offers shopping and several nice restaurants. You can take a nice walk through the charming center and enjoy the typical Swedish coffee. Alternatively, you can ski, skate or kick on the ice road that stretches from the North Port to the South Port. Our internationally famous ice road attracts people from all over the world!
Another attraction in our fantastic city is located just outside Luleå's city center. On the UNESCO World Heritage List Gammelstad Church Town. You can experience this beautiful and unique world heritage with or without a guide.

Upon arrival at Luleå Airport, you will be welcomed by one of our guides who will then drive you to your accommodation in Luleå city center. After checking into your hotel room, the rest of the day is open to exploring the city. You can stroll through the streets, sit down at a cozy café or check out one of the many restaurants.
On either Friday, Saturday or Sunday evening you will experience Northern Lights hunting by car, which night is chosen closer to the date based on the best Northern Lights forecast. The Northern Lights hunt starts at 20.00 and ends at 23.00.
After enjoying a varied breakfast buffet, a guide will meet you in the hotel lobby at 9:30 AM to drive you to Mörön see map here where the snowmobile tour starts at 10:00. For two hours you will experience the winter paradise while driving through the forest and the Luleå archipelago. After the tour you will be driven back to your hotel where you can take a nice hot shower before setting off on your next adventure.

On today's schedule you will learn about the history of Luleå but also about life in Norrland in the past and how the entire region developed through the centuries. Your guide will meet you in the hotel lobby at 10:00. The hike will take you between 3 – 5 km and the activity lasts 1.5 hours. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

After a wonderful weekend in Luleå, it is time to travel home. If you have a couple of hours before departure, you can have time to relax or do one last activity. But if you have an early flight, it's time to get ready and check out of your hotel. One of our guides will drive you to the airport and we wish you a safe journey home.
